Today I took my daughter to see the Hannah Montana movie/concert in 3D. The last time I saw a movie in 3D was to see Friday the 13th part 3 with my sister in Michigan. I'm pretty sure my mom let us skip school to see it & the glasses were these cheap paper with green & red plastic for the frames. They didn't even stay on. Haleigh was just as excited to get the glasses as she was to see the show. To my surprise the glasses were these black sunglass type which we got right before we went in the theater. We arrived 30 min. early & it was mobbed. The concert was playing in 2 theaters on either side of the theater. It was roped off to keep a straight line & to enter the theater you had to be stamped. The theater was full of mostly preteen girls & their parents. The lights finally dimmed & the screen instructed everyone to put on their glasses. Miley Cirus first came out as "Hannah" & the second half she was Miley. Haleigh squeezed my hand & started singing along, she was loving it. I have seen just about every Hannah Montana episode with Haleigh & never really got why it was so popular but seeing her perform was different. Miley Cirus was a powerhouse on stage and her energy never slowed down. Just like with the High School Musical concert, I was amazed by the talent. Almost a half an hour into the show you could hear so many girls singing along & standing up. It was almost like a real concert. I guess I'm partly writing this in case if anyone reads this & there on the fence about taking their daughter (or son) to see it. It's worth the $15 & then some. It could have been a bit longer, it was an hour & 15 min. I also love concerts & eight hrs. later I still have her songs in my head. I was lucky enough to see the High School Musical concert w/ Haleigh & my sister-in-law Erin (why couldn't there be a second??) & I've been lucky to see others as well. So since I'm feeling all sentimental I'll just name a few. My very first concert was with Colleen Dwyer to see Michael Jackson in Cleveland. We had horrible seats but I still screamed like a lunatic. Another great concert was Depeche Mode in Pontiac,MI with a good friend Hoi. A fews years later I saw Steve Miller with some coworkers where I ran into my oldest brother & his wife but they were so drunk they still don't remember seeing me! Throw in Michael a couple more times & his sister Janet too (saw her in Charlotte, great show, it was before she got all naked & stuff). I had a great time seeing the Backstreet Boys with my sister Sharon but we saw them in Greenville where parents just kept telling us to sit down-at a concert. Luckily I went to Michigan a few months later and dragged my niece to see them with me again which was great because there were just as many hysterical fans as me. Last but not least was the High School Musical concert, one of the best concerts I've been to, it was a Christmas gift to Haleigh from her Aunt Erin & Uncle John but Erin & I may have screamed more than Haleigh-it was that good. Today I hope was a preview of what's coming in oh, 258 days, but who's counting?

I'm happy to hear that you and Haleigh had a fun time!
My first concert was a Hootie and the Blowfish concert--Edwin McCain was the opening act. They're not as big as Michael, but they were fun to watch.
Miley Cirus was a powerhouse on stage and her energy never slowed down.
You sound like such a professional critic! ;) Nice.
That's awesome you took Haleigh to see it! I am so glad she had a good time. I wish I could've seen her enjoying it. And I'm guessing in 258 days you're seeing Miley live? How cool!
That's cool, too, about the 3D part. I've NEVER seen a 3D movie. :( Dang. Maybe I need to go see Hannah. lol
Great post. Hope Haleigh read it, too!
