So today on the playground a Mom (and friend) said to me, "Sue, you exhaust me by just watching you." I took it in stride because I really like her and although I known her for a few years, we are just now becoming good friends. Jack was on the big kid playground & was loving the big slide which meant big steps he had to go up. Yep, panic set in for me. Every time he went up the steps I was right there behind him, when he reached the slide I then ran down to catch him at the bottom. Perhaps it was a sight to see me running around with my huge rear in people's faces but I really can't afford the ER & I just don't have time. Really, American Idol is on & Jeff is working 2 jobs!! But I also don't want to be the Mom who is sitting with "others" discussing their next manicure & oh how are they going to lose that one eighth of a pound they gained!!! (the one who said that to me is NOTHING like that). So I worry, way too much but I think one thing about me is I don't deny my faults (well, some I'm sure) but don't waste your breath telling me I'm lazy--I KNOW! Am I a coward? oh yeah. Do I swear too much? damn right I do.

You said DAMN!!! I'm telling...
LOl at Greg's comment. ;)
I admit that I am m ore of a "helicopter mom" when we're at the park. Monkey bars make me nervous, the climbing wall...I'd rather regret hovering over him and preventing him form getting hurt, rather than him get hurt and have to regret that. I don't think there is anything cowardly about playing with and near your kid at the playground.

I AGREE!! I feel so out of place among moms like that. And we have a lot of that in Perrysburg. Those moms seem to exclude themselves from the more "interactive" moms, anyway. I was never one to be comfortable approaching a clique, anyway.
By the way, who said you were lazy? I'd think the lazy one would be the mom sitting on the bench, not the one running around with her son.
I agree with Sharon. If we don't watch them, no one else is going to. Moral of this story? "Go to the zoo with Jenny and play in the little mulch-covered playground next week" :o) We'll take turns hovering, deal?
