$5.40 a Gallon

That is not a misprint. In the upstate we had the pleasure of waking up to gas prices spiked to over $5.00 a gallon!!!!! Hurricane Ike plowed through the Gulf (in Texas now) and as a result we face these astounding prices. I know we are so lucky that Ike didn't hit the east coast & I feel for everyone affected by this storm & we have been keeping them in our prayers all week. Can gas prices really be justified at these prices? I don't think so but what do I know?? I know for at least today my car is staying put! If gas stays this high for any long period of time, it will be a depressing holiday season.
