Last night I actually got to take a quick walk alone-no kids! No Jack!!! And Jeff brought home dinner, very nice. Anyways, I was walking around the block and there was a couple in their front yard putting up Christmas lights & decorating their door with gold foil paper and hanging a wreath. I'm pretty nosy so I jokingly said, "getting in the Christmas spirit a little early?" They said no, they were just getting ready to celebrate Christmas. Their son was coming home from Iraq after not seeing him for over a year. They said they would not celebrate any holiday until their son was home. They then told me he is their only child which just seemed to make it all the more sweeter.
I don't know this couple but I just teared up being so happy for them. Maybe right now they are opening gifts with their son-Merry Christmas!

I'm glad he's making it home safely, and especially happy he has such a loving family to come home to.
How nice you have a hero right there in your neighborhood! Hey! Haleigh & Jack should make him welcome home cards. How sweet would that be?!
