HALEIGH

Yesterday was Haleigh's last day of school. She is now a 4th grader!!! Where has the time gone? It seems since Jack torpedoed into our lives, time has just disappeared. I always get a little emotional on the last day of school. Huge changes are ahead! Third grade was tough- the first teacher was fired for indecent pictures on the internet! The second teacher was wonderful but made it clear she only wanted to there until a permanent teacher was found. Then came Ms. Turner. First we were all so hopeful. She came highly qualified, older, lots of experience & she was a parishoner right at Prince of Peace. But it soon came apparent she was a little too concerned about her BMW & keeping her Rolex ticking. Yet she was still tough. The first month Haleigh's class was looking at almost 5 tests a week! One thing I should add was she really kept up on current issues with the kids. Haleigh loved that, it made her feel older & she loved telling me something about the candidates. Well, on the last day of school also marks the annual award ceremony. I knew Haleigh had made the honor roll and I was thrilled for her. I wasn't expecting anything else, which is fine. Afterall, it was a tough year.Haleigh, however, shines through toughness.

Award #1 Social Studies Achievement Award. "recognition in outstanding achievement"

Award #2 Religion Award. "For highest average in class"

Award #3 Reading Award. "For highest average in class" (she so deserved this award-you'll never see Haleigh without a book!!!)

Award #4 Honor Roll

Award #5 (my fave) Citizenship Award. "In recognition of exemplary behavior and valuable services rendered to class and school".

I'm sooo proud of her!! She truly earned all of these and she deserves an award for Big Sister because she helps me so much with Jack. He loved to bug her when she was trying to study! I just wanted to share my news. Now off to Tweetsie. :)
